As much as I love all wine, there's no doubt that the laws governing the Old World (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Hungary, Greece, Croatia & Slovenia) are extremely more complex and confusing than those governing the New World...which are basically non-existent, ever-changing and not exactly written in stone. In this section, I will attempt to help you gain a basic understanding of each country's unique labeling system and how to know what's in the bottle.
